Soy Wax Facts

NV’Soy™ Wax Facts

• NV’Soy™ Wax Candles are made of ALL NATURAL COMPOUNDS that release NO TOXINS when burned.

• NV’Soy™ wax is a renewable, environmentally preferable alternative to replace non-renewable petroleum-based paraffin wax.

• NV’Soy™ wax comes from sustainable and renewable agricultural sources.

• Consumers are DEMANDING a safe alternative.

• Due to a LOW MELTING POINT soy wax BURNS COOLER, LONGER and SAFER than paraffin.

• This feature also allows Fragrances to be released into the air faster and they last longer.

• NV’Soy™ wax is water-soluble and care be easily cleaned from glass, tin, fabric and other material for efficient recycling.

• CLEAN-BURNING with NO PETRO SOOT EMISSIONS.

• Soy wax burns an average of 25% to 65% longer than paraffin.

SOYBEAN CONTENT OF ENVIROSOY WAX

envirosoy wax is 100% vegetable with no chemicals, animal fat or petroleum additives.

A very small percentage of other vegetable oils are added to enhance performance characteristics for a smooth wax surface, strong fragrance throw, longer shelf life, colour blend, and in the case of votive wax, ease of mould release.

THE PROCESSING OF SOYBEAN WAX

Farm grown soybeans are crushed to separate the soybean meal from soybean oil.

From each 100 kilograms of soybeans, approx 81.5 kilograms of soy meal and 18.5 kilograms of soybean oil are produced.

The 81.5 kilograms of soy meal is where the protein content of the soybean is, so soy meal is processed into foods for human consumption such as soy milk, tofu and textured soy protein - a meat substitute used in foods like veggie burgers etc. The remainder of the soy meal is used for animal feeds.

The 18.5 kilos of soy oil can then be made into soy wax by a process of partial hydrogenation.
